Heavy Metal is alright, but La Blue Girl is better. Basically anything that comes from the Kitty animation company is Heavy Metal worth it

.hack//sign is about a wavemaster (spell user) named Tsukasa who becomes trapped in a home VR MMO called The World. He cannot log out, and he would rather stay in the game than deal with the real world.

.hack//G.U. takes place in the second version of the game, where Tsukasa no longer is trapped, but now they look for something called the Key of the TWilight, an omnipotent add on that was created by the game's designer, a Harold Hoerwick, a german game designer who made a fully functioning, self evolving A.I. called Aura.

The first version of the game was meant to contain Aura, but she was released when the eight phases of the Morgana Program were defeated, one at a time by a twin blade wit hthe legendary Bracelet of Twilight, the user extension of the Key. Supposedly, she died, and G.U. is trying to resurrect her, hence, the new version of the game...

nope, Haseo gets indoctrinated into the guild of Ovan and Shino called the Twilight Brigade, and Ovan is looking for the legendary Keo of the Twilight, but a person PK's (player kills) Shino and she falls for real into a coma, instigaing Haseo's turn to the dark side.

It's a good anime, and raises lots of well thought questions

Well, you got Ichigo, godlike speed, vs a Vaizard that has combined Sonido and Shunko, and this Vaizard has combined with the other inside of him/her, so that they are not two powers inside that are always struggling against each other...
